2014 Lifestyle 5k Series Wellington Waterfront Tue 25 Nov

Results

Inclement weather kept the turnout low with only the hardy types putting their toes on the start line. The positive spin-off was the lower waterfront pedestrian count, although this just meant the cyclists could go faster.

The field was led out by the two Trentham United juniors, Nikolai Allen and Harry Poland with newcomer Bram van Passen further back. Poland and van Passen fought it out for line honours with a fit Poland grabbing the win in 17.13 (a huge PB) and van Passen in 17.15. Nikolai Allen was well back in third place and from the look of it he may have had a nose bleed or something which slowed him up. The first female home was youngster Sophie Dawson (19.53) with Olympic stalwart Michelle Van Looy (19.55) just behind.
