Dan Hunt representing Victoria University ran a time of 17.51
to hold off a determined challenge from Gareth Smart who was 1 second
back. But you need to know Dan that if I
use the Age Grade Calculator then Michael Wray won in 16.44 or thereabouts.
The first woman home was Emma Barrett (20 minutes flat) with
Anna Stevens second (20.31). Weather always plays a part in how times pan out,
that and the ability to duck and dive through an often crowded waterfront.
There were plenty of PB’s and seasons bests amongst the
times and while the times are probably accurate Daryl’s finish line clock skips
a few seconds now and then. He knows about it and will do a software upgrade
once he knows how. If all else fails he
will take to it with a hammer.
As I mentioned last week there are a lot of women turning up
which is most excellent. This event is a
good place to give purpose to running and to measure progress.
