This photo was taken on Titahi Bay beach and shows young Liam in the junior race looking back at the camera as he heads toward the finish line. This event gets quite busy because at its peak, there are 3 races going at the same time with runners coming toward and away from the camera. Last year the tide was out and the light made the wet sand shimmer, but not this year.
