A 2009 photo of Sam Kidd. Today I bet he would have liked to run through some water - 5th in 17.0 |

There was small breeze on the waterfront but frankly the
late afternoon heat and high humidity makes conditions a bit muggy and sweaty
for ideal racing even if the distance is only 5km.
Despite the hot day mountain runner Dan Jones made short
work of the course pacing on 16.00 and coming home in an official time of 16.02.
As a mountain running exponent he
probably would have preferred a few hills to make it interesting.
In 2nd place was Ben Twyman, a multiple winner in
this event, who crossed the line in 16.22.
Third was Stuart Grange back after a break of 4 years. He posted a time of 16.45.
In the Critchlow/Thompson Challenge Brendon was once again a
no- show (maybe on holiday) but that didn’t stop Will from stomping all over
him with a respectable 16.52 for 4th
place. The invisible Brendon trounced
once again.
In the women s grade the winner was Esther George in a time
of 19.22 followed in 2nd place by Mel Macphee in 20.26.
Third home
was Kate Slater in 21.10
In meantime Daryl will continue to fiddle with the five-eyes
settings to get the chip electronic timing perfected.
