Results
This was the third in a series of regional meetings bringing in athletes from the lower North Island. The other two were in Hastings and Wanganui.
There were good fields in most events boosted by out of town entrants from the Taranaki, Wanganui and Palmerston North regions.
A number of high school aged athletes turned up getting in needed practice for the Secondary Schools track champs coming up in Auckland in early December.
In fact numbers could have been down in this age group due to NCEA exams.
There was also a large pod of Scottish Harrier athletes who turned up for the 3000m/5000m in an attempt to score points for the club's summer programme. The results show that a Matthew Sutcliffe (Scottish) was first home in the 3000m in a time of 8.56.64. Photographic evidence will show that this was in fact Evan Cooper.
