A pleasant evening with great running conditions which naturally
means a crowded waterfront. Forty years ago the place would have been deserted.
Ben Twyman back
from the racing wars took no prisoners and tonight romped home in 16.22 to pick
up his first 5km win of the new season. Looking
good Ben.
Second was Michael Du Toit in
16.56 followed by last week’s winner Dan Hunt in 17.01.
But you guys are lucky
that Mountain Running champ Dan Jones (17.48) was just out for the view tonight
and wasn’t going hard out.
The fastest woman tonight was Hinano Andrews in 19.44 with Greta
Woolloff in 2nd in 19.54 and Mel MacPhee 3rd in 20.25.
Greta could be one to watch.
In the Critchlow/Thompson stakes, Will C goes one up against
Brendon T by running 30 seconds faster than last week to clock 18.05.
Brendon
just wasn’t in the hunt tonight finishing in 19.55 and way down on last week’s
dead heat time of 18.35. But maybe the last laugh goes to Brendon who won the
spot big spot prize provided by the Shoe Clinic.
