A one-off track meet featuring a series of track relays, an 800m a few informal field events and the Wellington 5000m champs.
The men's 5000m race was mostly a repeat of the Wellington track 10,000m championship race held in early December with Rowan Hooper holding off a fast improving Harrison Burnard. Mr Burnard may have been a bit jaded after running a sub-32 minute 10,000m to pick up silver in the National 10,000m champs at Inglewood last weekend.
The women's 5000m title went to Phoebe McKnight who ran an impressive solo race and was never threatened.
In the relay events, which comprised of a 4x100m, a 4x400m and a medley relay, the dominating clubs were Upper Hutt, WHAC and Wairarapa. The two 800m races were essentially WHAC affairs which coach Evan Cooper probably wanted his athletes to run. It does show that the club has depth in the under 20 grades.
