Wellington Harriers caused an upset on Saturday by winning
the tough Vosseler Shield race and congratulations must go to them.
The win has not been without its controversy over the
exclusion of James Richardson from the Scottish team score.Richardson finished 2nd behind Tim Hodge but was left off the official results because he was not recorded as a registered athlete on the Wellington Athletics/ANZ database.
Apart from the Richardson issue, Scottish will no doubt be wondering how it got overrun by the WHAC underdogs in what ended up being a close teams race.
But it goes without saying that WHAC won on Saturday because its top senior men turned up at the start line, but for Scottish they were mostly absent.
